I went home and sliced my bagel in half, and put it in the toaster oven. I also ordered a medium half caff coffee and a chocolate babka! Normally I will eat my bagel with butter, or hummus (a definite favorite) or as an egg sandwich (egg, cheese, avocado is my favorite!) However, Rebelle had an amazing sounding cream cheese and they sell really little containers of it – I just had to try the bacon scallion cream cheese. I’ll let you in on a secret – I’m a weirdo and I don’t love cream cheese. I ended up ordering three bagels (I figured others would want to try them) – I ordered two everything and one plain. I was by myself, and didn’t have my book or computer with me to stay and eat. When I went in, I figured I would just get a bagel or two to go and try their coffee. I think that has been closed for a while – and I was SO pleased when I arrived and saw the beautiful shop that went into this space! It is really lovely and airy – it would definitely be a place that I would go to with a friend and eat breakfast or lunch. The shop is on the corner of Doyle Ave and Camp Street in Providence, in a former convenience store called “Your Corner Store”. Once I arrived I realized quickly that I would not be disappointed in my Saturday morning adventure! Rebelle Artisan Bagels I am much more of a savory breakfast person. A couple of months ago, I stood in line with my mom to try PVDonuts – and after standing in the freezing cold for over thirty minutes, I had had enough. I woke up 45 minutes before my alarm went off (I set it for 9am just in case – I have been known to sleep in on Saturdays) and I got dressed and went right out to see what I would find at 110 Doyle Ave.Īs I was driving over, I wondered if people would be standing in a line outside of the building. I was back in the Providence area and I was more than excited to check out the newest bagel place in Providence – Rebelle Artisan Bagels. to 1 p.m.It is a rare occasion that I will set my alarm clock late on a Friday night – but this Saturday morning I had something to get up for. The post also mentions visiting Rebelle at Little Sister PVD and a pop up shop at Farm Fresh RI‘s Sims Avenue market which takes place Saturdays from 9 a.m.

“We are keeping the kitchen we still have our lease, our landlords are the best, and we are going to put our heads together to sort out how Rebelle can come back in this same space, different vision, same amazing bagels & leadership team,” the post says. We need a reset.”Īlthough they say they’re are closing their doors effective immediately, it doesn’t seem they are going away for good. “It’s time to call it a day, at least for now. “We haven’t had a steady roster of sandwich makers for months and doing online and in person and bodega and everything to keep it going has worn us down,” the post reads. In a social post, the business said while they’re proud to have made it through the pandemic, they no longer have the staff to meet the level of service their customers are used to. (WPRI) - Rebelle Artisan Bagels took to social media Friday to announce they are closing their doors.
